Embrace Your Weird: A Celebration of Creativity

Thank you to everyone who entered this year’s YouCreate: WEIRD Competition. We were blown away by the number of entries and the incredible creativity, imagination and talent on show.

We are delighted to announce the winners of this year’s competition:

Year 7-10

• 1st Place: Amalia Mostallino – “Imposter”
• 2nd Place: Mia Philipsdottir – “Astralis”
• 3rd Place: Anusri Shome – “Fish Out Of Water”

Year 11–13 and FE Category

• 1st Place: Bentley O'Balogun – “Point to where it hurts”
• 2nd Place: Zachary Andrade – “Mothbone Gospel”
• 3rd Place: Anna Hales – “THE THING BENEATH THE THING BENEATH THE THING” 

Staff Category

• 1st Place: Victoria Samuel - The Purcell School – “The Quiet Geometry of Being Strange”
• 2nd Place: Nicola Gibson – East Norfolk Sixth Form College – “Winging it”
• 3rd Place: Jessica Doyle – Herne Bay High School –  “Heavy Heart”

A huge congratulations to all of our winners and thank you again to everyone who took part in this year’s competition.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our judging panel for giving their time and expertise to review this year’s fantastic entries:

The YouCreate: WEIRD Exhibition features all student entries, along with shortlisted staff entries, and is open from Friday 10th July to Friday 24th July, 10am to 4pm (closed at weekends), in the Herbert Read Gallery at UCA Canterbury (CT1 3AN).

We hope you’ll come along to the exhibition and celebrate all of the fantastic work on display!
