About the course

Working in UCA's professionally equipped photography studio, you'll learn how to use camera controls and studio flash before experimenting with different ways of shaping and directing light. You'll explore lighting modifiers, hard and soft light and multi-light setups before planning and carrying out your own studio shoot.

For the final session, you'll move into our computer facilities to select, edit and finish your strongest photographs using Adobe software.

The course is suitable for complete beginners as well as developing photographers looking to build their confidence with professional studio equipment.

You're encouraged to bring your own DSLR or mirrorless camera and SD card if you have them, but suitable camera equipment can be made available, so there's no need to purchase expensive specialist equipment to take part.

You'll leave with: a small digital portfolio of your own professionally lit and edited studio photographs.
