Fashion graduate opens pop-up
in London's Seven Dials
UCA fashion graduate Tihara Smith has opened her very first bricks and mortar pop-up store in Seven Dials, London.
16 Sep 2021
Out of more than 100 applicants, Tihara and her Caribbean-inspired lifestyle brand Tihara Smith won a Seven Dials lockdown competition that gave budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to set up their first shop on their iconic London streets.
Tihara Smith sells original, vibrant and distinctive stationery, as well as accessories, gifts, and prints, complemented by a customised made-to-order service. Each piece takes inspiration from the tropical flora and fauna of the Caribbean with a London twist and is hand-crafted using a combination of contemporary and traditional craft techniques.
Inside Tihara Smith
Tihara graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fashion from the University for the Creative Arts Epsom in 2018, making an extraordinary impact at Graduate Fashion Week 2018 with her Windrush inspired collection.
“Studying fashion at UCA was a great experience, it was a really lovely creative community and I’m glad that my career started there. And, after much hard work in establishing my brand, the launch of the first store is a huge milestone. This physical retail space will enable visitors to personally experience the spirit and story of Tihara Smith,” said Tihara.
Karen Baines, Head of Group Marketing & Communication at Shaftesbury, commented: “Tihara Smith is a one-of-kind brand, inspired by real experience and one we are delighted to welcome to our seven streets.”
You can visit Tihara Smith until 25 September.
