The Other Art Fair takes place later this month and is a great opportunity to see emerging creative talent. One of the showcasing artists is University of the Arts (UCA) alumnus and visual artist Simon McCheung.

The Other Art Fair takes place later this month and is a great opportunity to see emerging creative talent. One of the showcasing artists is University of the Arts (UCA) alumnus and visual artist Simon McCheung.

Simon graduated from UCA Farnham in 2005, with a BA (Hons) in Animation. Since then he has worked as an animator for small indie animation studios in London, before going on to become a visual artist and designer. His work is renowned for surreal images that tell intriguing stories that play on sensorial themes.

Some of Simon’s career highlight’s include, working as a UI designer for Sony Playstation and Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series, a motion designer for Spiderman and Star Wars, a Brand Ambassador for Canon cameras, and having his photography featured in Vogue Italia, at the Saatchi Gallery, and at Somerset House.

The Other Art Fair, which is presented by Saatchi Art, is the UK’s leading artist fairs to buy direct from independent and emerging artists. Located at East London’s Truman Brewery, it will showcase the work of 140 artists from London and across the world, each handpicked by an esteemed selection committee.

“The art fair is for artists to connect to their audience and vice versa,” explained Simon. “Saatchi Art has the audience reach, influence in the art industry, and has done all the marketing leg work for you, so all you have to do at the fair is be yourself.

“It provides emerging artists with opportunities to add value to their artwork through conversations and personal connections they make at the fair.

“For students, the fair provides real insight into the art industry and most importantly, helps you sustain your dream of becoming an artist after graduation.”

This month’s fair will also welcome Noel Fielding, comedian, actor, artist and musician, who will be the event’s guest artist, showcasing an exhibition of his work alongside the launch of a new and exclusive limited-edition print.
