An exploration into the abstraction of field recordings typically found in moving image to create more emotionally engaging soundscapes. We will explore creative sampling techniques made possible with modern digital audio workstations to work with sound as a sculptural material. We will use the original field recordings from the Snowblind project currently exhibited in the James Hockey Gallery.
The talk will take place at RF07 music studio. Participants will be invited to try their hand at mixing sounds together on our 24-track Audient mixing console.
