Meet the Artist Peta Jacobs.
Peta Jacob’s art practice has its roots in her textile training gained at UCA Farnham. This exhibition results from her PhD research, Making Material: 'Soft' Textile Thinking for the 'Hard' Questions Arising from an Investigation of Light. The applied 'textile thinking' that underpins the research o ers a non-linear 'soft' logic of folding, braiding, weaving, entanglement and thinking-through-making that helps to examine the many complex themes that arise from an exploration of quantum light. Inspired by the theories of physicist, David Bohm, Jacobs repeatedly examines simultaneous wave/particle duality, the entangled relationship of subject and object, hidden orders of wholeness and an edge of becoming where particles and anti-particles icker in and out of being.
