Exhibition: Pippa Ward: Say it with Plastic
New Ashgate Gallery
21 August to 6 November 2021, Tue-Sat, 10.30-17.00
Free
University for the Creative Arts alumnus, Pippa Ward, focuses on the environment and humankind’s inevitable impact on nature by using single-use materials in her works. She uses these disposable materials and objects that do untold damage to our environment if discarded and used carelessly. Plastic's unimaginably long lifespan, coupled with how casually we, as a society treat it, becomes a perfect metaphor for our almost blind overconsumption of the material.
