“Look”… Not Just An Older Woman
Challenging and disrupting the social construction of Vicky Hodgson's ageing femininity, a fabrication that has contributed to the derogatory representation of her body, is the focus of this important exhibition.
By referencing family album photographs, the media, and her lived experience, she has identified the moments in her life that have contributed to this derogatory discourse. By putting herself in the picture and engaging with photo theatre, Hodgson has developed photographs that challenge and disrupt this derogatory representation of her body in surprising, disturbing, shocking and sometimes humorous ways.
The exhibition runs from 15 April to 12 May 2024.
Launch is on Tuesday 23 April 5-7 pm.
