Fashion students from UCA Epsom are preparing to enter the Diversity NOW 2017 competition formed in association with i-D Magazine and All Walks Beyond the Catwalk.
In a series of fashion illustration workshops, Final Year students from the BA Fashion course at UCA Epsom have been experimenting with a number of illustration techniques such as collage, stencil and mixed media.
Life drawing models Ray Martin and John Mclaughlan, both long-standing tutors at UCA Epsom, have been a fantastic inspiration. Their eclectic and personal dress code and youthful persona have inspired students to portray their image in a mix of vibrant colours, patterns and textures, making it clear that age is no barrier to beauty and style.
Since its founding in 2010, Fashion students at UCA Epsom have been participants and winners of the Diversity NOW competition. We are very excited to again be challenging the perception of beauty for the fashion calendar in 2017.

“Nature gives you the face you have at twenty; it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty and beyond.”

“We believe Diversity can enhance Creativity not impede it. Like the multitude of silhouettes our industry creates, beauty is also individual. It’s not restricted by age, skin-tone, size or body difference. Let’s celebrate inclusivity and normalize difference.”
