To celebrate the UN International Year of Glass, the University for the Creative Arts is hosting live glass blowing demonstrations as part of Farnham Craft Month. You are invited to see the glass blowing process live in action with demonstrations from our technical staff and students, with a tour of the glass, ceramics and jewellery workshops. This event is open to the public, so whether you're a crafts person, a prospective student or just wondering how glass is made, this event is an opportunity to see how we teach the ancient art of glass blowing here in the heart of Farnham.
There are two sessions (11.30am-1.30pm and 3.00pm-5.00pm) available to book for this complimentary event on Friday 21 October. Each session will begin with a tour of the world-class craft workshops, and finish in the glass hotshop where our Glass Technical Tutor and established glass artist Laura Quinn will sculpt and blow 1000°c molten glass and narrate the process so you will learn about what is involved in glass blowing a unique sculpture.
