Throughout your degree you'll have opportunities to work on live industry assignments, partnering with magazines, fashion brands, galleries, and publishers. For instance, our second-year students recently worked on a project with the National Portrait Gallery. You can also choose to undertake a year-long industry working placement, helping you build a professional network and transition smoothly into careers in editorial, commercial, documentary or fine‑art photography.

Carve out your photography specialism

At UCA you can choose your own pathway. You can apply your skills on our Fashion Photography degree where you'll work closely with stylists and designers on creative shoots and campaigns. Or, you can explore broader conceptual photography and storytelling on our BA Photography course, including fine‑art, documentary, portraiture and experimental work.

All our campuses have professional photography studios with lighting and shaping equipment. We have everything you need to bring your creative ideas to life, including colour and black and white darkrooms, digital editing suites and top-tier cameras and lighting kits.
