Lecturer in Immersive Practices
Dr. Sawyerr is an expat academic with experience in teaching and conducting research in Europe and Asia.
Bio
Dr. Sawyerr is a Lecturer in Immersive Practices at the University for the Creative Arts. His research interests are in the design and development of digital media, especially Virtual Worlds and their related areas such as Virtual Reality and Video Games.
He has been working in the field of Virtual Worlds for around 15 years. During this time, he has worked on both research projects in academia and commercial projects in industry to help develop technologies that contribute to the advancement of Virtual Worlds and the knowledge that we have of them.
Dr. Sawyerr holds a PhD in Computer Science with a specialisation in the design and development of Virtual World Applications from Anglia Ruskin University. He also holds an MSc in Information Systems from the University of Sheffield and a BSc in Business Information Systems from London Metropolitan University.
Outside of work, Dr. Sawyerr enjoys hiking and playing video games.
