Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance for the Creative Industries
Dr Tony Stevenson CPA, SFHEA, is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance for the Creative Industries at UCA working and researching with MBA and Masters Programmes in Business studies for the Creative Industries. He also supports undergraduate programmes in the areas of economics, accounting, and finance.
Bio
Tony’s career began in the chemical industry with a German tier-1 supplier to the Global automotive industry – working on sound absorption projects for the car industry in the US, Canada and Germany. After that period, he entered management as a business development manager with a large industrial group.
After a brief period, Tony became a director with the group of companies and became responsible for technical and Mergers and Acquisitions. In March 2000 he led a buyout team to acquire the organisation. After this point, he entered the higher education sector starting as a tutor teaching, Finance, and Mergers and Acquisitions from a practitioner’s perspective.
Tony’s teaching career is international having taught in Asia and many other parts of the world.
Research statement
Tony’s research focus is on Mergers and Acquisitions and Foreign direct investment taxation models Post Brexit.
Research supervision
Tony is currently supervising a PhD student in Asset valuation post-purchase.
