Matt Lindsey lectures on the BA Photography courses at UCA, Farnham. He graduated from University of Westminster with a Masters in Photographic Studies.
Bio
Matt’s work has been in numerous galleries and he has worked on various arts publications including Scope: A Visual Archaeology of Photography.
Matt's practice draws on the technical and conceptual characteristics of a range of historical and contemporary approaches. Research driven throughout, his recent work focuses on forms of meta-discourse manifesting in an inquiry of photography itself as subject.
Matt is currently working on a project called Re-enactments. He is also the co-founder of LightMarks, an online research platform. He is interested in the photograph as material object and photo/text combinations. Matt’s latest essay A Culture of Texts will feature in A Companion to Photography due to be published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2016.
As an advocate of student-centred learning, Matt is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
At UCA, Matt heads a team of practising photographers, researchers and skilled technicians who help students develop their techniques and explore their individual talents.
