Hermione Thomson

Hermione has worked in education for nearly thirty years where she has taught traditional and contemporary textile processes. She is also a practicing textile artist and has exhibited in England and Japan since graduating from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham in 2019 with an MA Textiles (Distinction).

Bio

Hermione’s studio is based at Farnham Maltings, Surrey where she also teaches various textile workshops. Hermione’s mixed media craft-based works combine to make innovative reuse of waste matter whilst highlighting circularity in the textile industry. Her reductive aesthetic, choice materials, methods and processes often become vehicles for conveying aspects of the human condition that reflect the passage of time.
