Lecturer in Illustration
Beatriz Lostalé is an illustrator and researcher. She is currently a Lecturer in Illustration at UCA Farnham.
Bio
Beatriz graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca, followed by a MA in Children’s Book Illustration from the Cambridge School of Art. After obtaining a teaching qualification, she started a practice-based PhD on non-fiction picturebooks, which she is in the process of finalising. She has presented her research at international conferences, and currently collaborates with the Centre for Children's Book Studies in Cambridge.
As a researcher, Beatriz is interested in exploring informational depictions in children’s literature and the book as a material object through her practice. Heavily influenced by printing techniques like screenprint, she has worked across different areas of illustration for clients including V&A Publishing, Bloomsbury and Design for Today, as well as magazines and publications in both Spain and the UK.
